Hello friends!
Well, we are glad to announce that we have finally completed our unique, little short film. We now begin to enter the film into various festivals around the world.
We want to thank every single person who helped us make this film along the way. We are grateful and forever indebted to you; this film truly wouldn’t have been possible without your contributions.
Poster credit goes to David Hollenbach.
Warmly,
Steven Cerritos & Alberto Martinez

Roachfar Trailer from Enity Films on Vimeo.
Gasp! What’s this, an update?!
It’s been a while since our last post, hasn’t it? My apologies. As a filmmaker, I got bombarded with three other productions and, subsequently, Roachfar had to be put on hold. But the film hasn’t suffered from the lengthy delay! Actually, we put way more time and work than originally expected. In post, the film became a little more ambitious than its script counterpart. So hopefully the trailer/film’s opening, which can be seen above, will make up for the delay.
Where are we currently with post production? Well, we want to thank Craig Saltz for the film’s incredible, unsettling, and highly imaginative score; Michael Cooper for contributing a very memorable track which plays near the end of the film and over the film’s end credits; Paige Reynolds for her Gothic, atmospheric digital matte paintings, which were backgrounds used for the film’s nightmarish sequences, and Ana-Teodora Popa for the film’s eerie sound design. Steven Ebjick now takes charge over mixing and finalizing the film’s sound, which leaves us right near completion.
Expect a spring 2011 release, at your local film festival of course.

I was really bored yesterday. I tried playing kick-the-can, for a while. But it’s not that fun when you’re by yourself. Sometimes I think I might be the only person in Cerritosis Hill.
So I went on an adventure! And I discovered this really cool park! There were swings, slides, and a springy thing with happy faces! I had a lot of fun.
But then I got sad, really, really sad. I found a memorial nearby. A little boy had died there. I think someone may have killed him. His name was David.
Someone had left a statue angel behind. I guess they thought it would protect David’s soul. The angel was peeking at me, from behind a rose petal. “I’m not here to hurt David”, I said. It didn’t’ reply back. Not much of a guardian angel, if you ask me.
Then it got scary.
The swings began to slowly swing.
The springy thingy began to spring.
And then I heard child laughter.
So I left.
Hmmmm…
When I’m dead, I think I’ll be forgotten.

My name is Roachfar. I live in Cerritosis Hill. It’s a nice city. But people seem to be disappearing quite often. And when they do, many of their things are left behind.
For instance, take a look at this tire swing. It used to belong to a little boy named Tommy. His mommy and daddy made it for him. He had a lot of fun swinging on it. Too much fun, if you ask me .
I wish I had a tire swing to swing on.
Tommy and his mommy and daddy don’t live here no more. Something happened to them. Now the tire on the swing is mine! Well, that is until it snapped.
Now it’s just a memory, a memory of a distant childhood, that was never mind. That makes me very sad .

The charred baby is one of the motifs in “Roachfar”. I’ve always had an affinity for dolls, especially dark, morbid ones! And it was a real treat to integrate them into this film. They play a major role in Roachfar coming to terms with his dark childhood. Yes, the poor man is very troubled
The doll maker for this doll was Raychel Klotz. She was also the make-up artist on Zarb. Remember Elaine, the battered mannequin head in Zarb? That was her lovely work as well.
More horrific visuals to come
